did i mention i met Darryl Flood on saturday? Darryl Flood the packing shipping and moving mongul? er... maybe that's not the word. anyway, after being up quite late friday night, Emily had to work at 8, so i went with her.
we had a terribly silly 4 hour receptionisting time (thriller and hide-and-go-seek were involved... mostly by me. she was being responsible, and also there was a security camera.), and near the end, when i had just done my hair up very silly and was impersonating a ditz rather dramatically, guess who walks in but this mongul! (still sounds wrong, so wrong!) so the feller comes up, shakes the old hand and says, "So now you know there really is a Darryl Flood" and then off he went to a soccer game! and it was at that moment i realised my hair looked like a poodle (not like a poodle's hair, like an entire poodle), and to be quite honest i thought that was hilarious.
pictures and videos to come... hopefully. cross your fingers on the video, i highly doubt i'm that technological.

Mogul. Darryl Flood is a mogul.
Not a Mongol.
So a man whose name is plastered on the sides of 18-wheelers has seen my beloved daughter with poodle hair. My poor nerves. Nobody knows what I suffer.
oh, for all you know he had been in his office doing some very silly dance moves and wearing an afro wig. i'm sure outwardly he might have thought you ridiculous, but inside he was saying, "yeah! rock on!" and i should know. i'm the vp of finance's daughter. ;)
Wow Em. That sounds really fancy!
You should definitely put on some airs to go with that title. I'm picturing you refusing to answer your calls, or having an obnoxious fluffy little dog in a rhinestone dogsuit that you take with you everywhere in a monster purse. Or you could go around telling people (think celeb interviews), "I'm really a very normal person beneath it all!"
You definitely need to work on this.
oh, believe me, i do. i recently was moved to a desk (from the floor. yes, the floor. quite undignified), and all of my fellow gerbils (everyone else in the office who perform the menial tasks that no one else has the time/inclination to do) were very jealous indeed, and threatened to break out the measuring tape. i told them that they, too, could have the privileges that i enjoy if they were to become a vp's daughter. i suggested adoption, and some very strategic costuming. they said they'd stick with their cubicles.
