legit? really, claire? you're gonna use that word? that is so last year.
She had really big feet -- like a size 10, I think. And she didn't care one bit. While everyone else was wearing kitten heels to try to make their feet look petite, she stubbornly wore yacht-length flats and managed to make them look like just the thing.
And her hair. My stars. She might have been the first to figure out how to pull off tousled hair that was nonetheless at the same time very styled. At the time, just about every other fashionable woman in the western hemisphere was teasing and shellacking her hair to the brillo pad level. And there was Jacqueline -- on Martha's Vineyard, on the WH lawn, at state dinners, everywhere -- with her hair actually moving. GASP.
She was just gorgeous.
