yes, anarchy group. they have regular meetings. so... someone has to be in charge of their meetings or they'd never get started. think about it. it's like by trying to support "their cause" they manage to kill the logic of the idea and prove that they don't actually hold the core beliefs of it.... now that's impressive.

item 1: to see some incredible art, go here. so beautiful. how i would love to be the one coming up with these wonderful ideas and being behind the camera creating such uniquely beautiful art.

item 2: i know i've been neglecting this blog of late... just so much life happening, so much to do! i'm rather swamped right now under a literal mountain (and no, i'm not using that phrase hypothetically like dr. George does, it is actually a mountain. on my desk. making that room look horrifying all the time.) of books, all amazing, all brilliant, all a rare glimpse into a peculiar, brilliant mind, making it maddening to be so speedy going through them.

item 3: right now i've one of those terrible behind-the-eyes headaches that feels like someone dipped a carrot in wasabi and rubbing alcohol, lit it on fire, and punched you in the face with it. yeow!

item 4: already formulating my plans for the distant-future christmas break from school... they involve many cups of tea

filling boxes with sketches of all the gnomes and dancing

mushrooms and sparrows and ill-mannered oaks and possums that

want to spill out of my head all day long but never get a chance

making headway on my woodland-creature quilt (i'll post fabric pictures soon, promise!)

turning 18 and becoming an adult overnight (look, a christmas miracle! ;)

item 5: last night i dreamed it was my first day of college, and i had an amazing outfit, and for some strange reason sally field was my philosophy teacher. she was a good teacher, very smart, and she invited me to a coffee-making contest. that very night my home was invaded by alien-robot-coyotes... the details were very clear earlier in the day, but now i forget. there was great danger involved, though. yeep!

item 6: the office is back. yay! it was sorely missed. nearly forgot how brilliant rainn wilson is!

item 7: helped dan and caitlin move in to their wonderful, lovely home this afternoon, and going back tomorrow to help some more! it's wonderful, and feels like a home.

it's been so long!

sorry it's been so long, i've been so horridly busy it's impossible to keep everything going. and this is a problem, because i want to do EVERYTHING! really, have you ever seen a list of all the things i've wanted to be over the years? it's silly.

i wouldn't normally post something like this. but these are not just boots... these are art. i mean it. i love that there is so much potential for art in everyday things, like... boots! things to go on your feet. feet just aren't pretty. they're kind of weird, actually. have you ever stared at your toes for a long time? they get to looking strangely alien.

i probably shouldn't be this excited. but i think its justified.

the speed limit on the road i take to class every wednesday used to be 50. this made my trip take 45 to 50 minutes... and today, for the first time, i experienced the wonder of the new speed limit. it's now 70. yay! this makes my trip only about 35 minutes, which means that i'll actually be eating lunch on wednesdays now!

ok, there was something else i was going to say.

... oh right, i remembered

i'm going to start posting photography again. i've got some new stuff to share! over the summer i worked on learning more about how to use my fancy camera (which i still haven't named... hmm, sad.), and since i've been reading this biography of walker evans, i really really want to work harder on that.

one other thing. a strange moment to share, and perhaps slightly embarrasing. i was organising my books last saturday afternoon, and i was standing there, listening to some music, and suddenly i realised that i had been unconsciously dancing with paul johnson and hendrik willem van loon for a longer time than i'd like to admit... and not a waltz or anything like that. ever seen elizabethtown? the scene where he's in the woods and he dances like a three-year-old, jumping up and down, waving his arms around? thats how it was. and i don't think paul johnson would do that. surely he's ever so much too dignified. perhaps van loon would... he seems a merry chap.

so i got on facebook tonight, checked my messages, wait, i don't have to explain this. dumbo. anyway i got on facebook tonight and as i was looking over the page i made for my book group i noticed a strangely endearing little button.

next to other people's posts and discussion topics, i as administrator have a fancy little button labeled

yes. this inspires me. it's like a computer-generated eye-roll! you know how rolling your eyes (not that i'm condoning rolling your eyes... just sometimes its horridly satisfying) makes you feel that you've expressed "you have no effect on me, no matter what you say. silly weak little pigeon, i am not the piece of bread you thought i was, i am an unripe persimmon! you can't hurt me!"

remember this when you're feeling anahillated and beleaguered.
